Aptech’s Academics Team conducts .NET technical workshop for internship-ready students
Mumbai: On January 30, 2009, the Academics Team of Aptech Computer Education conducted a Technical Workshop to help internship-ready students improve their understanding of.NET 2.0. The workshop was held at Aptech’s Regional Office in Andheri & saw a good turnout of students from across 3 centres, i.e. Aptech Borivali, Aptech Mulund & Aptech King’s Circle.
The following topics were covered:
- Journey of .NET framework .NET 1.0 to .NET 3.5
- Requirement/ concept of the framework
- Features of the framework
- Basics of .NET framework
- Framework class libraries (FCL)
- JIT/ MSIL
- Define DLLs & list their drawbacks
- Define & describe assemblies
- Explain versioning of assemblies
- Define the process of reflection
- Transition from COM to .NET component
- Runtime callable wrapper
- What is ADO.NET?
- Data Sets
- Data providers
- New features of ADO.NET 2.0
- Winforms 2.0
- Essentials of ASP.NET
The workshop was broken into 3 modules:
- Learning technical concepts through visuals
- Query-solving
- Features of the framework
- Knowledge checks through practical tests
In the test conducted after the workshop, Amol Sawant from the King’s Circle centre scored 9 marks out of 10 to become the top performer in the batch, thus bagging a prize from Aptech.
Akshay Lad from Aptech Borivali rated the workshop as ‘Excellent’ and said, “I learnt Assembly very well during this session. The session will help me face interview questions of prospective employers. I would like to thank Aptech & request them to arrange more such terrific events in the future.”
Paying heed to student feedback, Aptech’s Academics Team plans to conduct another such workshop on Java Technology during the last week of February 2009. Watch out for this one!
