Aptech shortlists students; one to represent India in Germany
Aptech, in association with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), held national selections to shortlist a student to represent India at the next WorldSkills Competition in Leipzig, Germany, in July 2013.
Aptech, in association with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), held national selections to shortlist a student to represent India at the next WorldSkills Competition in Leipzig, Germany, in July 2013.
The selections were for the Web Design category of this prestigious international competition, and the winners are:
Kunal Mulwani (V.E.S Institute of Technology, Mumbai)
&
Abhishek Rajshirke (Aptech Computer Education, Borivali centre)
Each of these winners received a trophy, a Certificate of Merit, and prize money worth Rs. 10,000.
What’s more, one of them will represent India at Germany, in July 2013.
About WorldSkills Competition
Open to people below 22 years of age, the WorldSkills competition brings together the best skilled participants from 52 countries.
Instituted to measure excellence in vocational training, the competition is held once every two years. Hundreds of young skilled people, accompanied by their teachers and trainers, gather together from around the world to compete before the public in the skills of their various trades and test themselves against demanding international standards.
Process
Interested participants were asked to download an application form and submit it by December 30, 2012. Participation in the competition was free of cost and the travel and accommodation of the national winners too is free. The best entry will represent India in the WorldSkills championship to be hosted in Germany in July.
Past & Future
Over the past years, the WorldSkills competition has been held in various countries including the UK, Canada, Japan, Finland, Switzerland and Korea. This year’s competition is to be held in Germany while the 2015 edition is to be hosted in Brazil.
